Hello Ecclesiasticals—I am now back. The book is done and dusted (okay, the manuscript has gone to the publisher and I’m now awaiting first edits) so I finally have my weekends and evenings back again. Thus, here I am, posting for you.

I’ve had quite a few of you ask where to visit during the summer so this one’s for you. This is a personal fave pilgrim route. If you’ve undertaken this particularly peregrination, let me know how you found it! Enjoy!

This Scottish pilgrimage commemorating the patron saint of Scotland, and the town in which his relics were contained, can very much be classified as a revived version of a 1,000-year-old route. Recent campaigns have sought to revive interest in the Christian origins and tradition of the town of St Andrews in an attempt to turn it back into a major centre of pilgrimage rivalling that of Santiago in Spain.
