Hello lovely Ecclesiasticals,

I visited Oxford last week to speak at Waterstones. Only a couple more dates on the 2022 Heaven on Earth book tour to go. It’s been a wild ride but a tiring one. However, I’m truly grateful for the response the book has had and to each and every person who bought a copy and who has come out to see me at an event. I know many of you would have liked to attend but live abroad etc. Well, you’re in luck as I’m doing two virtual events at the beginning of December:

  • 1st December, HistFest, 7pm (free online event)

  • 8th December, Royal Borough of Kensington & Chelsea Libraries, 6.30pm (online event)

And for this week, let’s talk about saints. I thought this might be the start of a series in the run up to Christmas—as I’m keen to explore church traditions over the next month and as advent commence. For today, here’s the tale of perhaps England’s most popular saint: Thomas Becket.
