I'm coming to you with this a little later today, but I do hope you enjoy. Earlier this week I parked the car, trudged across dew-sodden ground to a white kissing gate, and forced it open as the resulting ancient creek echoed across the empty North Yorkshire churchyard. The vernal glow of the undulating ground which stretched out before me was mesmerising. And, as I scanned the interpretation board of the church near the churchyard entrance, I realised that the bones beneath my feet and those waiting to be discovered inside the church, were the remains of some of the most notable figures in medieval Englandβs history... Or were they?
